In the Codes page, you can define the values of the drop-down lists that are used throughout ESKA^® Insures – General Insurance. The category of the values will be referred to as the Major Code and the values belonging to the category will be referred to as the Minor Code. For example, if you are filling out the various colours that are defined in the system, ‘Colour’ would be the Major Code and ‘Blue’ would be the minor code. All Major Codes are previously defined in the system. In this page, you will only be adding the Minor Codes.

 

To add a new minor code, click and then follow through with the following steps:

 

§  The Code will be updated once the entry is saved;

§  Select the System that this list of values will appear in. The systems are the modules throughout ESKA^® Insures – General Insurance;

§  In the Name field, enter in the name of the minor code. In the Name 2 field, enter in the name of the minor code in the alternate language of the system if so desired;

§  Select the Major Code that this minor code will belong to. The list of major codes will be dependent on the System that was selected in the previous field;

§  The Minor Code will be updated once the entry has been saved;

§  The Parent Code field will only be enabled if the Major Code that is selected is ‘Vehicle Model’. In this case, the list of values that will be in the Parent Code field will be the ‘Vehicle Types’. This feature is so that you can add the various model types of vehicle models that are defined in the system;

§  Once you have finished entering the necessary data, click.
